Lost is a 2D animated, horror short film that focuses on a mother and her child. What begins as a peaceful walk through a hospital gradually takes a turn for the worst. Before they know it, the mother and her child find themselves in the deepest, darkest depths below the hospital, unaware of what’s lurking in the dark…

 

I helped with the development of this short film during my fifth and final year of studies at Swinburne University. My main role for the production stage of this project was to illustrate environments that would be used as background shots in the final film. For the aesthetic, we wanted to go for a style that had a very rough and vintage feel to it, so the team and I went for a monochromatic colour palette along with textured line art. Along with designing environments, I also helped out with parts of the 2D animation, such as creating rough key frames for characters and shots, as well as colouring.
